I felt incredibly calm and confident with our guide Pavlo. Any questions, mine or the group's, were resolved perfectly. It allowed me to truly relax and immerse myself in the rest and exploration.

I've had several hikes with Pavlo. One of them was in the snowy, wet Carpathians. Long before the start, I knew everything about the gear: what I was wearing, what was in my backpack, what was planned, and what was for backup. And when we set off, everyone was heard. Constant check-ups on the team's condition, pauses to change clothes or for other needs. Thanks for preparing us for the unknown, which helped us enjoy the trip and the fantastic company.

Pavlo is very organised and thoughtful; all these details: what to eat, when, and how? He's a bit of a control freak, but that was important to me when entering something new. It's brilliant when there's a person who loves and is passionate about this, yet also thinks about simple, everyday things. He is a fantastic 'child whisperer'; he enjoys playing with them, and they are thrilled and agree to do new, fun things with him.

We adapt the pace to the group, pause at viewpoints, and always have alternative routes ready. Madeira's climate is mild (+18–24°C in May), so heavy winter gear isn't needed. We also provide recommendations for flights to Madeira and travel insurance
Absolutely! Most participants join our Madeira journeys on their own – and that's one of the best parts of the experience. Over the week, a group of up to 8 people turns into a true team. We intentionally cultivate an atmosphere where it's easy to connect: shared dinners at the villa, board games, and pairing up for levada hikes. Many of our travellers remain friends for years after the journey
Madeira is known as the island of eternal spring, and May certainly proves it. Air temperatures hover around +20–25°C, while the Atlantic Ocean is about +19–21°C. Short showers are possible, especially in the mountains, but they only add to the atmosphere of the ancient laurel forests. There's plenty of sunshine without the intense heat – creating perfect conditions for levada hikes, the Pico Areeiro–Ruivo trek, and active outdoor exploration
Madeira's routes are among the best-maintained hiking trails in Europe. The levadas feature railings and fencing, and the paths are clearly marked. Our experienced expedition leader knows every route intimately and always assesses weather conditions before we set off. We carry a comprehensive first aid kit and maintain direct contact with the island's rescue services. Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all participants
Of course! We can easily accommodate you in the same room at our Madeira villa. Just mention this when booking your bespoke journey. The investment remains the same – calculated per person. Couples and friends often find that sharing this island adventure brings them even closer together
Levadas are an ingenious system of irrigation channels unique to Madeira, constructed as far back as the 15th and 16th centuries to distribute water from mountain springs. Alongside these channels lie hiking trails that wind through ancient laurel forests (Laurisilva, a UNESCO site), dark tunnels, and past waterfalls like 25 Fontes and Risco. Hiking the levadas is the hallmark of Madeira and an essential experience for any traveller exploring this part of Portugal
